This might be the largest election in Los Angeles history, and we want to put our mark on it. The DSA-LA Nithya Campaign Working Group will work to make sure our members are registered to vote and that our neighbors are aware of upcoming elections. We will work to help voters understand that the status quo isn’t working for working people.

Our Outreach Team is focused on talking to voters. It’s our GOTV (get out the vote) group that was previously focused on knocking on voter’s doors, but under COVID-19, we have to change to respond to our new normal. We need to innovate to create new paths to reach out to voters. That includes – but is not limited to – phone banking, text banking, letter-writing campaigns, and voter registration efforts. Our Research Team is about doing some digging on our opposition. If you’re a journalist or like getting into the nitty-gritty, this is for you. The stuff we learn on the research team will inform all of our work – it’ll help create our messaging for outreach and for communications, and help inform where we should be focusing our efforts. If you’re interested in policy work, including (but not limited to!) subjects like healthcare, climate justice, policing, or immigration, the Research Team is a great opportunity to help spread DSA-LA’s positions to a broader audience.
